Save NOAA Stop DOGE

The Trump Administration and Elon Musk continue to recklessly demonize dedicated federal workers who provide critical services everyday. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) who provide critical services from the National Weather Service to seafood safety is not immune from DOGE’s intimidation tactics to fulfill the promise of Project 2025 to eliminate NOAA.

But we are NOT going to sit back and watch.

On Monday, March 3rd at 10 am, Congressional leaders and advocates will gather at NOAA HQ in Silver Spring, MD (right at the Silver Spring Metro stop) to tell Trump and Musk to keep their hands off of NOAA.

Firing hundreds of NOAA workers has severe impacts on day-to-day life for Americans. We depend on NOAA workers everyday to warn us of weather events, protect our commercial fisheries, support first-responders when disasters happen, and much more. We have already seen the damage Trump and Musk have done to other critical agencies. We have seen how families and communities have paid a heavy price for so-called “efficiency.” NOAA must be defended!

Stand With USAID Until The End: Raise Your Voice

Stand with USAID until the end. Public servants deserve respect.

Everyone is encouraged to show up and bear witness.

The USAID “pick up your belongings tomorrow” directive is insane, abusive and wildly illegal.

The green light to strip USAID down to the bone was given by Trump-appointed judge Carl Nichols, who ruled last Friday that Trump’s unconstitutional acts to destroy the agency didn’t threaten anyone with irreparable harm.

The Trump regime has given the USAID offices to Customs and Border Patrol, and have demanded workers clear out their desks by Friday, February 28th.

USAID has made final decisions to cancel nearly 5,800 awards, while keeping more than 500, and that the State Department has canceled about 4,100 awards, while keeping about 2,700.

There will be solidarity sings Friday morning from 7:30 am - 8:30 am and 10 am - 12 pm.

The 7:30 am sing is led by All Souls UU choir.

The 10 am sing is led by the bēheld women’s choral ensemble.

The time to stand up is now.

U.S. Foreign Aid

A subcommittee hearing entitled “America Last: How Foreign Aid Undermined U.S. Interests Around the World.” Originally titled “How Foreign Aid Lost Its Way.”

USAID distributed $44 billion to over 160 countries in FY 2023. U.S. foreign aid has significant implications for global stability. DOGE has recently lawlessly hacked USAID.

Witnesses:

  • Tyler O’Neil, Managing Editor, The Daily Signal
  • Max Primorac, Senior Research Fellow / The Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom, The Heritage Foundation
  • Gregg Roman, Executive Director, Middle East Forum
  • Noam Unger (Minority Witness), Director of the Sustainable Development and Resilience Initiative, Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS)

DOGE claims have been found repeatedly to be wildly overstated, false and misleading.

Hands Off Our Healthcare Research Jobs

The billionaire class is waging a war on workers, putting our nation’s healthcare, research, education, and jobs at risk. These attacks target workers at colleges and universities in many ways: through imposing a cap on indirect costs on grants across the NIH, freezing funding for crucial research, and threatening academic workers across the country.

On Tuesday, February 25, we’re taking this massive energy directly to D.C. Register to join us in-person or online for a viewing party and national phone bank.

Labor leaders and organizers representing hundreds of thousands of higher education and allied workers will rally in D.C. to expose how Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s attacks on research and higher education funding are decimating public health while siphoning off public resources for private gain.

At the same time, higher ed workers and allies will join together online to get energized by each other and the events in Washington, D.C. We will use our power to tell our legislators and elected officials: Hands off our healthcare, research, jobs, and education!

Organized by the Labor for Higher Ed Coalition.

In-person: U.S. Health and Human Services Headquarters, 200 Independence Avenue SW
